Positive Habits

Did you know that it normally takes about 30 days to break an old habit, or to begin a new one? In fact, most habits take much longer to form if we are not fully committed to implementing one.

Habits get a bad rap because often they are deemed to be negative behaviors or characteristics. However, habits can be very helpful, depending upon what they add to our happiness and satisfaction. The following very adeptly describes how habits can be helpful.

********************

Who Am I?

You may know me.
I'm your greatest helper.
I'm your heaviest burden.
I push you onward or drag you down.
I am at your command.
Half of your tasks might as well be turned over to me.
I can do them quickly and consistently, if that's what you want.
I am easily managed.
All you have to do is be firm with me.
Show me exactly how you want it done.
After a few lessons, I'll do it automatically.
I am the servant of all great men and women.
Of course, the servant of the failures as well.
I've made all the great people great.
And, I've made all the failures, too.
I work with the precision of a marvelous computer, and with the intelligence of a human being.
You may run me for profit or you may run me to ruin, it makes no difference to me.
Take me. Be firm with me, and I will put the world at your feet.
Be easy with me, and I will destroy you.
Who Am I?

I Am Habit!

Do you have any habits that need implementing or changing? You can do it. It takes a firm commitment and then discipline to follow through.

Choose one positive habit, work on it for 30 days, and see if your life isn't changed for the better.

Affirmation for the Week:

"I am in the habit of creating wonderful situations in my life. My habits are my positive companions."

Have a habit-forming week!
